Have you discovered them all yet? Meet Harriet Boatemaa. She is 29 years old and has been a member of Jonakrom Kuapa Kokoo society for 4 years. She was introduced to the co-operative by her father papa Jonah who is the recorder of that society (which means he is the person elected by the village to weigh the cocoa and pay the farmers). "I am very happy to be a member of the co-operative that has made me who I am today! My father was able to pay for my education because of Kuapa Kokoo, and our society also now has access to drinking water" says Harriet. She takes care of her younger siblings with proceeds from the 7 acre farm her father has given her. She represents the next generation of farmers and has had the opportunity to travel to UK as a Kuapa ambassador to learn as much as she can, and share her own experience with chocolate lovers. She aspires to be the youngest National President of the Kuapa Kokoo farmers union. She hopes this will inspire other young people to stay in villages and farm rather than migrate to the city in search of non-existent jobs.
