Directions	Feeding directions: Adult dogs: adult dogs with normal activity may be fed once daily. Depending on your dog's age and activity, serving sizes may vary slightly from the recommended daily feeding guide portions. Companion original formula dog food may be fed moist or dry. To feed moistened, mix 1/4 cup of water to 2 cups of Companion Original Formula Dog Food. If fed moistened, do not serve more than what your dog will consume in a thirty-minute period to ensure product freshness. Pregnant, nursing, or hardworking dogs or dogs exposed to cold weather may require 2-3 times these amounts. When high activity or other factors require high feed intake, twice a day feeding is recommended. Weaning puppies: start puppies on Companion original formula dog food as soon as they begin to chew on solid food, usually 3-4 weeks of age. Add warm water to soften the food and after 8 weeks, mix with water or feed dry. Allow them to eat as much as they want until fully weaned (6-8 weeks of age). Growing puppies: after weaning, feed them all they want three times daily to six months of age and twice daily to 12 months of age. After one year, follow adult feeding instructions. Feeding tip: changes to your pet's feeding should be made gradually. Blend increasing amounts of Companion original formula dog food with his/her current food until your pet has a 100% Companion original formula dog food diet. Use the transition feeding tips as a guide. Remember to provide plenty of fresh, clean water in a clean container at all times. Recommended daily feeding guide: Dog size: 3-12lbs. Feeding amounts in cups: 1/2 - 1 1/4 cups. Dog size: 13-20lbs. Feeding amounts in cups:1 1/4 - 1 3/4 cups. Dog size: 21-35lbs. Feeding amounts in cups:1 3/4 - 2 3/4 cups. Dog size: 36-50lbs. Feeding amounts in cups: 2 3/4 - 3 1/2 cups. Dog size: 51-75lbs. Feeding amounts in cups: 3 1/2 - 4 3/4 cups. Dog size: 76-100lbs. Feeding amounts in cups: 4 3/4 - 5 3/4 cups. Dog size: 100+ lbs. Feeding amounts in cups: 5 3/4 cups + 1/2 cup for every 10 lbs over 100 lbs. Amounts are based on standard 8 oz dry measuring cup. Transition feeding tips: 1-3 days - 1/4 part Companion + 3/4 part dog food. 3-6 days - 1/2 part Companions + 1/2 part dog food. 6-9 days - 3/4 part Companion + 1/4 part dog food. 10+ days - Companion only.
