Repeat with second layer overlapping the previous area by 1/2 to 1/3 of its width, smoothing the bandage after each turn to ensure it lays flat. Bandage should be applied without tension. Do not apply under tension as excess constriction may result. The fully wrapped bandage should be firm, but not so tight as to cause discomfort. If it feels too tight or uncomfortable, unwrap bandage and reapply. Secure the end of the bandage firmly with tape. Apply new dressing daily or as needed to keep dressing dry, or as directed by your health care professional. For medical emergencies, please seek professional help.
