On stove top:
1.) To heat thawed gravy: remove gravy from package and place in a large saucepan and heat on low heat until hot. Do not boil.
2.) Once gravy is fully heated, add beef slices to saucepan. Heat only until beef is warm. (Caution! Overheating can cause a loss of tenderness!)
In microwave oven:
1.) Thaw beef using defrost setting on microwave oven for approximately 5 minutes.
2.) After removing gravy from package, place gravy in a microwave-safe dish. Heat gravy on full power for 5 minutes. Oven temperatures may vary, cooking times are approximate.
3.) Once the gravy is fully heated, add beef slices to gravy. Heat only until beef is warm. (Caution! Overheating can cause a loss of tenderness!).
To thaw:
Thaw beef and gravy in refrigerator for 48 hours.
Thaw Giardiniera peppers at room temperature.
Keep frozen until ready to use.
Serving suggestions:
Serve on crusty French bread or French roll. This will taste better and hold up much longer than a hamburger bun.
Garnish sandwich with Giardiniera peppers. (Peppers can be heated with gravy if desired).
For a taste just like your favorite beef stand, dip your sandwich in gravy or ladle on a little extra Italian style gravy.
Vienna Italian style sliced beef is great served cold, with no gravy, for a traditional roast beef sandwich.
Add a piece of cooked Italian sausage to beef to make a terrific combo sandwich!
Helpful hints:
Vienna Italian style beef is fully cooked and prepared to a medium-rare stage. The longer you heat this product, the less rare it becomes.
To store any leftover product: separate beef from gravy. Store in separate containers in the refrigerator for no more than three days.
