Directions Cinnamon, a natural product of the cassia tree, in stick form stays very fresh. For fresh ground cinnamon, grind it as you need it. Use a food processor, spice mill or clean coffee grinder. For chunks, wrap it in a cloth and use a mallet or hammer to crush. Dress up holiday gifts: Include in bows on packages. Use for craft and art projects. Stocking stuffers for cooks. Construction material for kid's projects. Make a holiday pin or other jewelry. Put holiday fragrance in the air: Tuck in drawers and clothes. Simmer on the stove. Fireplace aroma - simply add to the fire. Decorate the tree and wreaths: Add to bow on holiday wreaths. Make tree ornaments. Use in floral arrangements. Spice up recipes and drinks: Use as swizzle sticks in drinks. Garnish an apple pie. Mexican, India, Thai and Asian recipes. Sprinkle on toast. Make cinnamon apples. Spiced cider-warm up cinnamon chunks with cloves, allspice and orange peel. Try spiced wine or fruit juices. Add to apple sauce. Sprinkle on cookies. To prepare. You will need: Global Treasures™ mulling spices, cider or red wine and a large put. 1. Use 2 tbsp of mulling spices for 4 cups (1 quart) of liquid. You do not have to use the whole package at once. 2. Pour cider or red wine into a large pot. Add mulling spices directly to beverage, or in a tea ball or put spices in a 6" sq. cheese cloth and tie with string. 3. Simmer (do not boil). Heat 1/2 hour for a quart or an hour or more for a gallon. Remove spices from beverage by straining or removing. Save to reuse. 4. Serve warm or refrigerate, and re-warm when ready to serve. Enjoy the aroma! 5. Spices are re-usable. To store, drain spices, place in resealable bag and freeze. Use several times until flavor declines, makes up to 48 cups.
