Feeding instructions:
When switching to Companion® Wholesome Formula Chicken & Brown Rice Recipe Indoor Cat Food from another cat food, it's a good idea to allow 7 to 10 days for the transition. Mix increasing amounts of Companion® Wholesome Formula Chicken & Brown Rice Recipe Indoor Cat Food with decreasing amounts of your cat's previous food until you are feeding only the new cat food. Weaning: kittens generally start eating dry food at 3 to 4 weeks of age. Keep original cat formula moistened at all times. After weaning, kittens will eat dry or moistened food readily.
Reproduction: food consumption may vary throughout gestation and lactation. During gestation, feed the amount to maintain the weight of the pregnant female. During lactation, feed 2 to 4 times normal intake.
We recommend feeding your adult cat within the guidelines listed below:
Weight of cat, pounds - amount, cups.
3-6 - 1/4 - 2/3.
6-9 - 2/3 - 1.
9-12 - 1-1 1/3.
Over 12** - 1 1/3.
*Using a standard 8 oz measuring cup.
**Add 1/3 cup for each additional 3 lbs over 12 lbs.
Adjust to maintain proper body weight and condition.
Amount of food your cat requires will depend on activity, age, environment, and breed. Feed at room temperature and refrigerate unused portion. Always provide access to clean fresh water.
