Directions | Keep frozen. Cooking instructions: Microwave: pour petite peas in 1 1/2 quart microwave safe casserole dish. Add water and cover. Microwave on high as directed on chart. Drain. Season to taste. Amount - 8 oz - 16 oz. Water - 1 tablespoon - 2 tablespoons. Cooking time* - 2 minutes. Stir and continue to cook 1 1/2 - 2 1/2 minutes - 3 minutes. Stir and continue to cook 3 1/2 - 5 1/2 minutes. *Microwave cooking times may vary from one oven to another. For best results, consult owners manual. Simmer: for each 8 ounces (approximately 1/2 bag) of petite peas, bring 1/2 cup water to a boil. Add vegetable and bring to a second boil. Reduce heat and cover. Simmer 5-6 minutes, until just tender. Do not overcook. Drain. Season to taste. Steam: pour 8 ounces (approximately 1/2 bag) of petite peas in vegetable steamer and place over boiling water. Cover and steam 5-7 minutes, until just tender. Season to taste. To store: keep frozen until ready to use. If thawed, cook promptly. Store at 0 degrees F (-18 degrees C). Check freezer temperature with thermometer and adjust controls as needed. |
