Directions Ready in under 30 minutes. You will need: 1 pound uncooked chicken breast cut into 1/2-inch pieces or 1 pound medium uncooked shrimp (peeled and deveined), 2 1/2 cups milk, 3/4 cup water, 2 tablespoons butter. Marie's special touch: For an even richer sauce, replace 1/2 cup milk with heavy cream. Stir real bacon bits into finished meal. Stove top preparation: Cook: Cook chicken or shrimp in large skillet over medium-high heat about 5 minutes until chicken is browned or shrimp is pink. If using shrimp, remove from pan and set aside. Stir: Stir in milk, water, butter, seasoning and pasta. Bring to a boil. Simmer: Reduce heat. Cover and simmer 12 minutes, or until pasta is tender, stirring occasionally.
