Directions | Keep frozen. For food safety and quality, follow the cooking directions: Before eating, cook thoroughly to at least 160°F as measured by an instant-read food thermometer. Keep frozen until ready to cook. Adjust cook times and heat settings as needed. Refrigerate leftovers. Stove-top directions: Heat 4 cups water to boiling in 2-quart saucepan. Add edamame (in pods); return to boiling. Gently boil uncovered over medium-high heat 3 to 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thoroughly cooked. Drain. To eat, remove edamame from pods; discard pods. (To serve cold, rinse with cold water; drain.) Microwave directions: Important: Do not microwave in bag. Pour edamame (in pods) and 1 tablespoon water into 1 1/2-quart round microwavable casserole dish. Cover; microwave on high according to chart, stirring halfway through cook time, until thoroughly cooked. Caution: Hot! Uncover carefully; stir well. Drain. to eat, remove edamame from pods; discard pods. (To serve cold, rinse with cold water; drain). Microwave wattage* ... time on high. 1200 ... 5 minutes. 1000 ... 5 1/2 minutes. 700 ... 7 minutes. *Microwave wattage vary; adjust cook time for the wattage of your microwave. Do not leave microwave unattended. |
