Directions	For one hour beef stew: 1. In 4-quart saucepan, whisk together 2 1/2 cups hot water and beef stew mix until well blended. Stir in 1 1/2 lbs beef stew meat, cut into 3/4-inch cubes. Let stand 10 minutes. 2. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring twice. Reduce heat to low and simmer covered, stirring occasionally, 20 minutes. 3. Add 1 cup each 1/4-inch sliced carrots, 1-inch cubed potatoes, and 1/4-inch onion wedges. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer covered, stirring occasionally, 30 minutes or until meat is tender. Makes 6 cups. Be creative! Try adding zucchini, peas, celery or green beans to stew in step 3.
