Directions | Keep frozen. To grill: 1. Prepare grill by separating hot coals into two parallel rows. Center drip pan between coals. 2. Remove neck and giblets. These may be used to prepare giblet gravy or stuffing. Remove plastic leg clamp. 3. Place turkey on grill breast side up. Grill must be covered while cooking. 4. To maintain heat, add briquets to both sides every hour. 5. Charcoal grill turkey 11-15 minutes per pound or until meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the thigh registers 180 degrees F. Juices should run clear. If using gas grill follow time given for oven roasting. Proper handling recommendations: 1. Refrigerate at 28-36 degrees F or freeze to 0 degrees F or lower. 2. Thaw in refrigerator for 3-4 days, or place wrapped turkey in sink with cold water. Change water frequently and allow 1/2 hour per pound to thaw. Refrigerate after thawing. 3. Cook whole turkey at 325 degrees F until your meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the thigh reaches a minimum internal temperature of 180 degrees F (approximately 20 minutes per pound). Juices should run clear. To roast: 1. Remove neck and giblets. These may be used to prepare giblet gravy or stuffing. 2. The plastic leg clamp may be left on during cooking, to temperatures up to 500 degrees F. 3. Place turkey on rack in shallow pan, breast, side up. 4. Roast at 325 degrees F approximately 20 minutes per pound, or until meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the thigh registers 180 degrees F. Juices should run clear. A foil tent may be placed loosely over turkey when it is golden brown. 5. Let turkey stand 15 minutes before carving. 6. For optimal safety and premium presentation, cook stuffing and turkey separately. If desired, add fully cooked stuffing to cooked turkey just prior to serving. Approximate oven roasting time at 325 degrees F.
