You will need:
1 1/4 cups water for grains.
1 tbsp olive or vegetable oil.
1 tbsp cold water for dressing.
1. Heat 1 1/4 cups water to boiling in 2-quart saucepan. Pour grains from bag into boiling water. Reduce heat to medium-low to low. Cover; simmer about 18 minutes, without stirring, until grains are tender and liquid is absorbed.
2. Stir together dressing mix, 1 tbsp oil and 1 tbsp cold water in medium bowl. Set aside.
3. Stir cooked grains into dressing. For a chilled salad, cover and refrigerate about 1 hour. For a warm salad, serve immediately. Refrigerate leftovers.
Tip: for a cold salad to serve immediately, rinse cooked grains under cold running water using a fine-mesh strainer until grains are cold. Drain well. Continue with steps 2 and 3.
