Microwave directions:
In a round 2-quart microwaveable bowl, combine rice, 2 1/2 cups water and 2 tablespoons of butter or margarine. Cover and microwave at high 18-21 minutes or until rice is tender and most of liquid is absorbed. Stir in 2/3 cup milk and special seasonings. Microwave at high 1-2 more minutes or until rice mixture returns to a boil. Let stand covered at least 3 minutes. Stir well before serving.
Microwave ovens vary; adjust times as needed.
Less fat directions:
Follow range top or microwave directions, except substitute butter with 1/2 tablespoon olive oil and use 1/4 cup skim milk.

What you need: 2 Tablespoons butter or margarine, 2 Cups water, 2/3 Cups milk.
1. In a medium saucepan, combine rice, water and butter or margarine, bring to a boil.
2. Cover, reduce heat to low. Simmer 18 to 20 minutes or until rice is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.
3. Stir in 2/3 cup milk and special seasonings. Increase heat to high. Boil for 1 to 2 more minutes stirring constantly; sauce will be creamy.
4. Cover and remove from heat. Let stand 3 minutes. Stir well before serving.
